CHAPTER 37

Happiness is a wicked feeling if you have it, you are lucky to cherish it but if you don’t all you do is long for it. The one who never had it only knows the value of it. We all are the products of what we have gone through in the life but what people tend to neglect is that some lessons in life are not taught they hit us in a mystic way when we are not ready for it but still we have to learn to deal with it. Some burden are so heavy to carry but we are compelled to carry it as we have no way to escape out of it. Pain is the easiest feeling that you can make others feel but what is difficult is to make someone light up with happiness to make their eyes shine and twinkle.

Khushi was bored with capital B. she had nothing to do and all her planning to go see her sister was done and all she was doing is wait for that day. She had packet everything she has to take for her jeeji and jeeju. Walking in the garden she was just trying to find something that would interest her she was not used to stay put at place for long. She had tried to  talk to HP but he was looking at her with that look which said that he was busy and had lot of work to do. So feeling pity on HP she let him go.

Now she was lying on the ground on a blanket looking at the sky as already in few hour sun would set. She was so deep in her thought about her life that she was not at all paying attention to her surroundings. She was really confused about the man she was married. She had seen so many shade of the ASR that she didn’t know which one to believe. But every time she had observed him she had seen the one emotion that dominated him was anger.

Her father always said her that anger is a way to let out your pain that is so deep in your soul that if you won’t let it out in some form you will bust from within and that destruction will be worse than what your anger can cause. Hidden pain can turn into poison and when such venom is released only death can be the result.

She wanted to understand him and every time she thought she got an idea about his nature within a blink he will change. What shocked her about him was when he was with the lady in that room what was her name she thought and said yes Lavanya. She had seen him relaxed but still there was pain but it was different from what he showed others. One thing she had realized that he was pretty close to La. She was intrigued about the lady and she wanted to meet her again but she was afraid to ask him and it make her body shiver to speak her mind to him as she was not sure about how will he react, so she rarely did open up her mouth in front of him.

She had noted that he was angry from the moment he had been back from his trip he had snapped at HP for little little things. She was so deep in analysing him that she didn’t even realized that someone was lying next to her.

ASR was busy in his work he was happy about the progress of his work. He had made sure this time the trap was so full proof that there won’t be any escape. He had waited for too long to given Mr. Raizada what he deserves he will inflict him with so much pain that he will beg for death but he will make sure that he is alive. He had to go through all the suffering he had inflicted on others he would have not bothered about what he did to him but what he did to her was unforgivable crime and for this he will make him pay.

He was so busy in his plan that he hardly got time for anything else. So when today he came back early he had sprightly headed to his room to get changed and after freshening up he moved to check on khushi toward study as she mostly read a novel there but when he went in she was not there. He was walking down the stairs when he saw HP and asked him where khushi was. He needed to talk to her about few things and as he had time in hand he thought to make the best use of it. HP looked at him and said Sir, ma’am is in the garden and saw him walking toward the garden.

ASR saw her deep in thought. He had seen a lot of people in his life but he had never met someone like her. She was different there was an innocence and charm about her that could make anyone to be attracted to her. But what he liked about her was her fighting spirit and her guts to stand for what she believes in. He had never met someone who was pampered so much to be this mature, she always tried to see both the side of a coin and make the best of what she has. While he had learned that if you have power than what side you chose is the right one. All he had seen and learned about people is that everyone has their own motive and he was still trying to figure out her motive. Even when she had said that she is trying to do it for her jeeji and herself, as she was tired of trying to escape and she knew that if she messed up her only family will be hurt.

ASR laid next to her and was trying to figure out what she was doing. So she looked at her and said what you are thinking about. Khushi who was deep in thought without thinking said about ASR. ASR looked at her with interest and said what about him. Khushi who had been quiet for long time got someone to talk so she said I’m thinking why is he so complex and hard to understand. ASR was shocked with her reply and more so as she had not yet realized that he was lying next to him. But what shocked him was his action he was lying on a blanket in the garden and talking to her. He looked at her and said I need to talk to you in his stern voice.

Khushi who was still deep into her though heard his voice and this time she realized who it was and so she turned around and was face to face with him. She tried to move back but with a sudden pull she was lying on top of him. Khushi shriek with the sudden pull and tried to get up but ASR held her back and said sat and rubbed his hand on her back making her shiver. Khushi raised her head and looked at him with her doe shape innocent eyes and said someone will see us. 

ASR looked at her and said as if I care just lay down. He looked at her and said there is a change in plane about our USA trip. Khushi looked at him with shock. ASR pulled her close to him and made her head rest on his chest and said don’t worry we will go early then we had decided and you can celebrate your birthday with your sister and you do remember what we are gone do on your birthday if he felt her shiver and breath hard he didn’t bother to ease her.

He held her closer if possible and said you admission has been done in one of the most famous college in Delhi and you are enrolled for Fashion and Event Management course. Khushi smiled at hearing about her admission and what shocked her was that he had admitted her in the course she was interested in. What she felt weird was that he gave her what she wanted but with his own conditions. But she had learned to accept it as she knew arguing with him will only mean that she is inviting trouble. While she was busy in her musing someone else was deep in slumber. Khushi raised her eyes to talk to him and was shocked to see that he was asleep. She smiled and rested her head on his chest and soon she too drifted to sleep. Both were content and in deep sleep in each other’s arm.

Nirvan was trying to call ASR from morning but every time his cell was busy so he called his office and got to know that he had left a while ago. He needed to talk to him about something he was so happy today when he had walked into La’s room and nurse had said that there was a slight movement in her hand and it as a good sign that she may recover soon. He was so happy that after four year she had responded and the nurse said that she had informed doctor and he will be soon her. As soon as the doctor had arrived he had checked her and conformed that it was great sign of improvement. He change some of her medicines and asked whether something had changed in her daily routine that made her react and if so they should continue it as it will help her a lot. Nirvana had no idea if anything had changed around her so he was trying to call ASR so they both can discuss with doctor but his phone was most of the time busy. After checking La doctor left and he spent rest of his day with her. It was already 6pm so he thought to walk to HP and say him to inform him when ASR is here.

HP heard him and said but sir had arrived a long time back and he is in garden. Nirvan thanked him and walked toward the garden to talk to him. But what he saw there made him halt him in his track. The sight before him was mesmerizing, anyone who would have not known him thought it to be the most romantic sight of a couple in love sleeping in each other’s embrace in the garden. A smile lit up on his face seeing the sight he was happy and just pray to almighty for the little grace of happiness in his life. He was elder to him but life had made him mature before time and he just prays that at least this time god gives him a blessing to live than just to be alive. He walked away from there letting them cherish this moment just among themselves. He would talk to her about La during dinner.

Sun has already set but two souls were still sleeping in each other’s embrace. Khushi who was sleeping on him due to wind her few lock of hair were tickling ASR and soon his sleep was disturbed as he was a very light sleeper. He blinked his eyes and saw her still sleeping and realized that it was already evening her kept looking at her face for few minute and then shook her a bit to wake her up but heard khushi say Jeeji I’m sleepy and snuggle more into him and slept again. He looked at her and smirked he moved a bit and made her rest on the blanket and got up and stretched his leg and then slowly bend down and picked her up in his arm and walked toward their room. He was still shocked that even when he picked her up she still didn’t wake up and that made him realize that she was a sound sleeper. Soon he was in their room and made her lay down and left to complete his some work and soon got busy in work.

After few hour HP had walked toward the study as he knew ASR was there and said sir dinner is ready. ASR just nodded and got up and moved toward his room to wake khushi up for the dinner she had slept for quite a long time. He woke khushi up and this time made sure she wakes up and saw her rubbing her eyes like a baby and pouting. He just shook his head at her antics and said freshen up we will go down for dinner. Khushi lazily got up and walked toward washroom and soon got ready and they walked out of the room together like always.

Everyone was present in the dining table HP was serving everyone. Nirvan looked at ASR and saw he was busy eating his dinner while khushi was talking to him about his day and all he did was listening to her. Nirvan smiled at this mismatch couple and cleared his throat to gain their attention which he did.

Nirvana looked at ASR and said today Doctor had come to check La and there is an improvement in her she had moved her hand and doctor said it is a good sign and wanted to know what has changed in her routine. He saw ASR’s keenly and he saw some happiness in his eyes. ASR looked at him and said we will discuss this in my study. Soon after dinner they moved toward the study. They both were talking thinking what had changed in La’s routine and khushi was sitting there reading as she was not sleepy. Both the man were thinking when Khushi looked at them and walked toward ASR and said Arnavji can I met Lavanya ji again. I get bored all day as I have nothing to do. ASR looked at her and then realized only thing changed in La’s routine was when she met Khushi. Without bothering to reply to her he turned to Nirvan and said she had met khushi.

Nirvan looked at him and then khushi and said I guess we should make them meet again and see if there is any improvement in her. So it was decided tomorrow morning they will take khushi to meet her. After deciding this Nirvan left for his room. ASR looked at khushi and said I will let you meet her but make sure not to say anything that may hurt her and if I see you hurting her you will pay the price. Khushi looked at him and said but why will I hurt her. ASR looked at her and just shook his head and said lets go to sleep.

Next morning everything was a blur for khushi as ASR was in hurry to take her to Lavanya so after breakfast they walked into La’s room and Nirvan too followed them. Soon both the man settled on the couch while khushi sat next to La. She looked around her and saw both the man were busy in their laptop and crunched her nose making faces. At that moment ASR looked at her and khushi smiled at him and said I wasn’t making face on you. ASR just shook his head and got back to his work.

Khushi was getting bored sitting alone doing nothing so she leaned a bit so both the man could not hear what she was saying and so she started talking about her jeeji and her friends and various other things. While she was busy in her talking Nirvan who had got up to drink water saw a ghost of a smile on La’s face he wanted to shout out of happiness but he just pulled ASR who wanted to shout at him but Nirvan gestured him toward La and both the man were shocked to see a lit smile on La’s face and khushi who was a sleep next to her with her head resting on the bed and her one hand holding La’s hand.

It seems after a decade ASR smiled from his heart seeing a ray of light for his La after a long and painful night so it was confirmed that she liked khushi’s presence near her and he would do anything to make her happy.
